Signal 1861, Allentown

The moon slides behind the ridge as a stack train heads east in the early morning hour of September 2, 2001. Split pair 1861 and 1862 at Allentown once sported both east and west sidings with a trailing point crossover, which explains the separate cantilevers. The hawks that have made their nest in the latticework of signal 1861 will soon be packing their bags as the Allentown signals were retired on 23 October 2001.
