Perhaps one of the more bucolic scenes in the Rio Grande Valley, signal 8812 stradles the Santa Ana and San Felipe Indian Reservations. Between Bernalillo and Domingo, where the railroad follows the Rio Grande, the terrain is very much as shown here: cottonwood trees, irrigated alfalfa fields, and river bluffs.
